Randy
M. Brooks, Professor of English, received his Ph.D. from Purdue
University with a concentration in rhetoric and professional writing.
His areas of academic research include professional writing curriculum,
rhetorical theory, hypermedia, web publishing, technical writing and
computer aided publishing.
Dr. Brooks
is the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and has been an active proponent
of experiential learning as a means of integrating theory and practice
in the curriculum. He encourages Millikin students to perform their knowledge and expertise in order to make a contribution beyond themselves. He has been an editor and publisher
of Brooks Books
since 1976, and often invites students to participate in press activities.
He has
been an active proponent of integrating service learning throughout
the curriculum at Millikin, and has provided models of service learning
